Here's a few things to consider
Envelopes literally move the direct mail industry, yet most people are unaware of the vast number of different sizes and shapes that are available as standards.
While the traditional Number 10 envelope, the announcement size, and the 9 x 12 catalog are just three of the most common sizes, nearly 60 different sizes of standard envelopes are available.
For example, the standard 9 x 12 envelope can come as a catalog envelope with the opening on the short side or as a booklet with the opening on the long side.
Different sizes and types of envelopes imply different types of mail. A window envelope usually means a bill or a check. A greeting-card-sized envelope means you are another year older or being invited to something. Brown Kraft and Manila envelopes are important government announcements and certified mail is something that can not be ignored.
